Quick Answer
Tommy Vercetti will not physically appear as an active character in GTA 6 due to both the canonical separation between Rockstar's 3D and HD universes and the tragic passing of legendary voice actor Ray Liotta in 2022. However, Rockstar has embedded massive emotional tributes, graffiti murals, and Ocean View / Starfish Island Easter eggs honoring Tommy. Meanwhile, GTA 5's Franklin Clinton (Shawn Fonteno) and Michael De Santa (Ned Luke) may receive indirect radio or GTA Online crossover mentions.
Honoring Ray Liotta in Vice City
Ray Liotta's electrifying performance as Tommy Vercetti in 2002 revolutionized voice acting in gaming. Rockstar honors Liotta with Starfish Island estate architecture, 1980s retro Easter eggs, and Ocean View art-deco landmarks.
